About us
The Phoenix Players Drama Group has entertained and enthralled theatre enthusiasts in the Western region since it’s inception in Tubbercurry in the year 1945. The group has been instrumental in the development and encouragement of amateur drama locally, and has brought many people from different backgrounds together in the pursuit of quality theatrical performance.
Not long after it’s initiation, the group became an accomplished and eminent force in the Irish amateur theatre movement thanks to it’s consistent participation and success in drama festivals within Connacht and sometimes beyond.
Throughout the years, the Phoenix Players Drama Group has engaged the attention, imagination, heart and spirit of audiences in ways that few amateur theatre groups have managed.
Like all groups, there have been quiet periods… but as the name would suggest, you can be sure this group will always rise from the ashes.
